Kybella
Dr. Callender is a premiere investigator and trainer in the FDA approval of Kybella. Historically, the chin and upper neck have been an enormous challenge in terms of aesthetic maintenance. These areas are affected not only by the loss of collagen and elastin that causes surface tissue to sag, but mere position also makes the chin vulnerable to the force of gravity. Sometimes, a double-chin has roots in genetics, and develops long before a person notices other signs of aging. Sometimes, sagging skin and accumulated fat occur around mid-life. Whenever this problem develops, the ultimate reaction is to want it gone. Kybella makes this possible.

How does Kybella work?
Am I a candidate for Chin Fat Reduction treatments?
If you are affected by submental fullness that does not diminish no matter how hard you try, Kybella may be right for you. Research has shown that double-chin fat is notoriously difficult to lose even with a healthy diet and exercise regimen. In the past, the only way to reduce the size of this area was to have liposuction. Kybella is an excellent alternative to men and women who desire a more contoured chin without having to schedule time off from their busy lives.
It is important to know that Kybella works gradually and that there are limitations in terms of the final result. Kybella works in concert with the body, targeting fat cells through a series of treatments. While most patients notice a dramatic improvement over time, it remains crucial to have realistic expectations of what is – and what isn’t – possible.
What areas can Kybella treat?
Kybella has been approved for the treatment of the dreaded double-chin. Larger treatment areas are not (yet) able to be treated with this injectable solution.
How many people have had Double Chin Reduction Treatments?
More than 1600 individuals have participated in formal Kybella studies, and thousands more have been treated with this injectable since it’s FDA approval.

How many Kybella treatments will I need?
Every person is different. We determine the recommended number of treatments after a thorough consultation and evaluation of the severity of submental fullness. In some cases, a single treatment will achieve the desired outcome. The standard round of care for moderate submental fullness is three treatments, scheduled at six-week intervals.

How long do Kybella results last?
Is Double Chin Reduction expensive?
Kybella is a cost-effective, non-surgical solution for submental fullness. The cost of treatment will vary based on the amount of product and number of treatments needed.
Kybella side effects
The most common side effects of Kybella are temporary redness and swelling of the treatment area. Swelling may be noticeable due to the initial expansion of fat cells after treatment. This may last one to two weeks. Some patients report a mild burning sensation during and in the few hours after treatment. This can be mitigated with ice packs.
