What Is PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP is a treatment that is popular amongst patients looking to get rid of facial wrinkles and fine lines. However, it has recently been proven as an effective way of helping increase hair growth. So, how does it work exactly?
The first step in PRP involves removing some blood from your arm. Once the blood has been removed, it will be placed into a system that extracts the plasma from it. Then, the blood will be injected directly into your scalp. Because the injected blood is so rich in nutrients and vitamins, it naturally stimulates your hair follicles and causes your scalp to produce more hair.
Does It Hurt?
Before you receive your PRP injections, a local anesthetic will be applied to your scalp so that you don’t feel a thing during the entire procedure. If, for some reason, you start experiencing pain, tell our staff, and we will administer more anesthesia— one of our priorities is to make sure you’re comfortable from start to finish.
