Spring Break Alert: 3 Things to Pack with You in Your Beach Bag
- Posted on: Mar 15 2019
Whether you have kids or not, it’s safe to say that spring break is the perfect excuse to pack up all of your warm weather clothes and head somewhere where there’s a beach and a drink with an umbrella in it. You may think that as long as you have your bikini and cocktail in hand that you are good to go, but here at Callender Cosmetic and Dermatology Center, we have a few other things for you to pack.
Sunscreen
The number one thing that you should bring with you to the beach is a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Sunscreen is your skin’s only real defense against the sun’s harsh rays and can prevent you from getting a sunburn or extreme sun damage. A broad-spectrum sunscreen will protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays; leaving you with that much more coverage.
To make sure that you get everything out of your sunscreen, reapply it every couple of hours; that way you know that you are really staying protected. And, don’t forget about your face. If you don’t have anyone to rub it in for you, grab a stick sunscreen that you can put on your face and shoulders on the go without anyone’s help.
Sunglasses
The skin under your eyes is really tender and sensitive to sun damage and sunburns. To help shield your skin from the sun, make sure that you invest in a good pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses aren’t just good at protecting your eyes from sun damage but they can also protect the skin all around your eyes as well.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera gel is a great, all-natural way to soothe your skin after a long day out in the sun— especially if you have little ones. To help sooth sun exposed or even sunburned skin, make sure that you apply a thick layer of aloe vera gel all across is.
